Civil registry

The archives of the Civil Registry hold the duplicates of the birth, marriage and death certificates issued by the city offices, and the attached indexes required by law, are subdivided in different historical periods: Baranello City Registry (1809-1982); Campobasso Province Registry(1809-1957) (except Duronia, which acts are held by the Isernia State Archive). Old marriage certificates are also included (birth certificates of the spouses and death certificates of their parents). Since 1866 the citizenship certificates have been incorporated (most of those certificates are changes of residence), the decennial indexes and the attached files of the birth, marriage and death certificates required by the laws of the Kingdom of Italy.

Army census

The Recruitment Lists archive holds the documents of young male citizens born between 1842 and 1935 and residents in the District, whom were called to the recruitment exam.

Recruitment number and military draw number

The other group of documents comprises the draft card series from the Campobasso and Caserta Military Districts (classes of 1874-1934).
