Civil registry

The Bologna State Archive holds the original duplicates of the Civil Registry files of the Reno Department (1806 – 1815) and the Bologna City Registry (1866 – 1899).

Army census

The Recruitment files are subdivided in: District Recruitment Council, which holds the Napoleonic period acts (1802-1814); The Bologna Circunscription Recruitment Office holds the Recruitment Lists of the young males called to the recruitment visit in the following districts: Bologna (classes of 1839-1944), Cento (classes of 1887-1910); Cesena (classes of 1839-1870); Faenza, Imola, Lugo de Romagna, Ravenna (classes of 1839-1879); Rimini (classes of 1839-1870); Rocca San Casciano (classes of 1851-1870); Vergato (classes of 1839-1884).

Recruitment number and military draw number

The file Bologna Military Districtholds the Draft Cards until the class of 1945. The same archive holds the lists and Draft Cards of Ravenna and Ferrara. The archives receive new entries regularly. The archive is composed by a single series, the Draft Cards from the following districts: Bologna (1862-1920, with some files from 1857), Ravenna (1876, 1879-1893) and Ferrara (1876-1945). The years correspond to the date of birth of the recruits , which establish their military class.
